Meredith and Hume Split Doubles Matches at All-American

TULSA, Okla. - Day No. 2 of qualifying tournament action kicked off at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Tournament in Tulsa, Okla., Tuesday (Oct. 5), which marked the opening round of doubles competition for Boise State juniors James Meredith and Damian Hume.

The Bronco duo, which was looking to rebound from Hume's opening round loss in qualifying singles on Monday, managed a decisive win in their first doubles match of the day before falling from the competition. Hume and Meredith started things off Tuesday with an 8-3 win over Filip Milijevic and Matej Zlatkovic of Illinois State. Their run in doubles would end shortly thereafter, however, as they fell in the second round to Ugur Atalay and Erik Hannah (George Washington), 8-5.

The loss ends Hume's week at the All-American Championships, while Meredith will now turn his attention to singles competition in the main draw. Meredith, who is currently ranked No. 40 nationally, received an automatic bid into the main draw bracket. He will begin his quest for a tournament title on Thursday (Oct. 7).
