Bronco Volleyball Begins 2010 Preseason Camp

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State volleyball team kicked-off their 2010 season on Monday, reporting to their first day of preseason training in Bronco Gym on the campus of Boise State University. Sixteen student-athletes reported to head coach Shawn Garus and his staff, who are serving their second season at the helm of the Bronco Volleyball program.

The Broncos will participate in multiple practices for the next two weeks in preparation for their season opening tournament hosted by Air Force in Colorado, August 27-28.

The Air Force Tournament will be the first of four preseason tournaments for the Broncos this season, including two road tournaments at Wyoming (Sept. 10-11) and at Davidson College in North Carolina (Sept. 17-18), as well as, playing host to the Northwest Challenge Tournament featuring Boise State, Gonzaga, Portland State and top-ranked Washington.

The Northwest Challenge serves as the home opener for the Broncos on Sept. 3 and 4, while the Broncos' first non-tournament home match will follow shortly after on Sept. 7 with Utah Valley visiting Bronco Gym. Boise State will face Utah Valley in Orem, Utah (Oct. 20), Weber State in Ogden, Utah (Sept. 8) and Idaho State in Boise (Oct. 5) in additional non-conference matches on the season.

Nwagbuo joins after playing two seasons with San Diego City College, while Jones joins the team after one season at South Dakota State. Visser began training with the Broncos during the Spring 2010 season after beginning her career at New Mexico State in 2008 and sitting out a season in 2009.
