BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men's tennis player James Meredith is picking up this fall right where he left off at the end of the 2009-10 season; ranked nationally in the ITA singles rankings. The ITA released the 2010-11 preseason national rankings, Friday (Sept. 10), which featured Meredith as the No. 40 singles player in the country heading into the fall.
The ITA won't release the first regular season individual and team rankings until Jan. 4, 2011. The Bronco men's tennis team will be competing individually throughout the fall until late November.
Meredith, a junior from Christchurch, New Zealand (Christchurch Boys HS), will look to build upon a standout sophomore season for Boise State. Meredith finished the 2009-10 season ranked No. 61 in singles after falling in the first round of the NCAA Individual Championships. He was named Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year after compiling a 25-10 singles record. Meredith also boasted a 9-5 record against top-125 opponents.
