► What's Happening - Boise State track and field plays host to an assortment of athletes this Friday and Saturday (Jan. 28-29) when they host the Jacksons Invitational /New Balance West meet. The meet that is held at the Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho, includes both collegiate and high school event competitions.
► Meet Specifics - The Broncos host the eventful meet on Friday and Saturday, with collegiate, high school and multi-event competitions. The meet is slated for an 11:30 am start on Friday, while Saturday's events are planned to begin at 9 am. The multi-events will be held from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm on Friday, with individual field events beginning at 4 pm and track events starting at 5:15 pm. On Saturday both track and field events begin at 9 am, with the meet winding down at 4:15 with the high school 4x400-meter relays.
► The Competition - Boise State welcomes both collegiate and high school teams to the Jacksons Invitational/New Balance West Invite. Collegiate competitors include UNLV, BYU, Utah State, Eastern Washington, Lewis-Clark, Northwest Nazarene, College of Idaho, Whitworth, Central Washington, Eastern Oregon and Treasure Valley community College. Local area high school athletes will compete in the meet, many under club teams such as the YMCA Team Idaho, Teekay Track Club and as unattached athletes. The Bronco Track Club is also slated to compete.

► Broncos' Indoor Schedule - Boise State is hosting its fourth of six regular-season indoor home meets this upcoming weekend. Remaining meets for the indoor season include regular season meets like the Bronco Open (Feb. 5) and the Boise State Team Challenge (Feb. 11-12), while also hosting the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships (Feb. 24-26).
► Continuing to Improve - The Boise State track team continues to improve as each meet comes. The team collected 33 career-best marks, 17 season-best marks and six indoor career-best marks in the Bronco Invitational last week. Each week the team continues to increase their numbers in season and career-bests, looking to be in solid form for the WAC Championships in late February.
► Undefeated - Three Broncos and one relay team remain undefeated in their respective events thus far in the season. Mele Vaisima has won each of the three weight throw competitions she has participated in this season, including a season-best mark last week (61-4.25). Eetu Viitala has won all three long jump competitions this season, producing a career-best mark of 25-4 last week. Trevor Kraychir has picked up three weight throw titles this season including a career-best mark of 65-7.75 two weeks ago to win the event. The men's 4x400-meter relay team has also gone undefeated this season, earning the third-best time in school history just two weeks ago.
► Who to Watch - Not only will the three undefeated individuals and one relay team be a thrill to watch on Friday and Saturday, but also a handful of Broncos who have seen recent success. Brian Pierre (Mile), Jeff Daw (400m) and Chase Sexton (shot put) all look to defend their titles from last week.
In the sprints and hurdles Manoah Wesson, Karrie Butler, Paul Robertson, Eric Capelle, Rolando Trammel, Justin Malnes and Daw all have been solid competitors as of late. For the women Destiny Gammage has stepped up in the past weeks, while Racquel Jones is a cornerstone for the Bronco sprint crew. Pierre and Mathew Moyer have produced solid marks in the longer distances.
In the jumps BreAnna Craig and Daniel Thompson have been solid in the pole vault, while Jones and Viitala have been key in the long jumps. In the throws, Vaisima leads Alyssa Osai and Nadine Russell on the women's side while Kraychir, Sexton and Alex Nelson have been a force on the men's side.
