Broncos Giving Thanks

BOISE, Idaho -- The Boise State Athletics Varsity B Club is spearheading the first "Broncos Giving Thanks" event this Sunday (Nov. 20), at the Bronco women's basketball game against the Pepperdine Waves.

The Varsity B Club, athletic alumni letterwinners, will be delivering special Bronco Thanksgiving baskets to families in need from the Boise area. The families will receive their Thanksgiving food basket after the women's basketball game on November 20th.

"Matt Strohfus (football, 1998-2002) was instrumental in getting this project off the ground," Varsity B Coordinator Michel Bourgeau said. "Matt contacted the Salvation Army and the Mission, recruited volunteers, solicited food and cash donations. He really put the whole affair together."

The end result: disadvantaged families will be able to enjoy a Bronco women's basketball game and get a Bronco Thanksgiving food basket given to them by the Varsity B Club.

Broncos Giving Thanks will allow the Broncos' athletic alumni to have a positive impact in the community by helping feed families that are in need this holiday season. Strohfus will bring together Varsity B members and current Bronco student-athletes to deliver a great Bronco gameday experience against Pepperdine. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
