Bronco Bench Lifts Boise State Past Fresno State

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Paul Noonan had 19 points and seven rebounds off the bench to lead Boise State to a 75-61 win over Fresno State Thursday night, at Taco Bell Arena.

Boise State (13-11, 6-6 Western Athletic), which snapped a four-game losing streak, got 49 points from its bench, matching the highest bench total for any WAC team this season.

Noonan made 7 of 10 shots from the floor, including five 3-pointers. The redshirt senior started the first 10 conference games. Thomas Bropleh and Zach Moritz also supplied the Broncos a scoring punch off the bench with 14 and 10 points, respectively. La'Shard Anderson added 12 points as Boise State finished with four players scoring in double figures.

The Broncos broke out of their recent shooting slump in a big way, shooting 47.5 percent from the floor as a team, the best performance since Dec. 19, against Texas-Pan American. Boise State also knocked down 10 shots from behind the arc, the second-most 3-pointers in a game this season.

Tim Steed scored 13 points, Greg Smith 12 and Bracken Funk 11 for Fresno State (11-13, 5-7), which has lost five-consecutive road games.

Boise State continues its homestand Saturday against rival Idaho. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:05 p.m. and will be televised by ESPNU.
