DENVER - Boise State's Hannah Redmon and Hailey Gaspar have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Week and Specialist of the Week, respectively, for the week of March 7-13. This is the fifth WAC honor for Redmon this season and third for Gaspar.
Redmon, a senior from Sparks, Nev. (Flips USA) tied for the all-around title in her first all-around competition of the season, scoring a new career-best 39.500 at a tri meet against Sacramento State and UC Davis. She also won the bars title by tying a career high with a 9.925. She placed second on vault with a 9.900 and tied for fourth on beam with a career-best score of 9.775. She also placed second on floor with a 9.900.
Gaspar, a sophomore from Los Alamitos, Calif. (American Gymnastics Academy) won her fourth vault title of the season and fifth career title with a 9.925 in a tri meet against Sacramento State and UC Davis. She is now tied for No. 10 in season wins on vault at Boise State (4) and sits just outside the top-10 in career wins at BSU. She tied for the 12th-best vault score in Boise State history. Gaspar also tied for second on floor with a 9.900.
