DENVER - Boise State's Amy Glass and Hannah Redmon have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Week and Specialist of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 28-March 6.
Glass, a junior from Vacaville, Calif. (Davis Gymnastics) set a new school record for season all-around wins on Friday, earning her eighth title of the season in a dual meet against Southern Utah. Glass set a new personal-best in the all-around with a 39.500, tying her for the fifth-best score in school history. She also tied for a win on bars with a career-best score of 9.925, won the beam title with a 9.900 and also won the floor title with a 9.875.
Redmon, a senior from Sparks, Nevada (Flips USA) set a new career-best on bars with a 9.925, tying her for the event title in a dual meet against Southern Utah. The score ties her for the seventh-best score on bars in Boise State history. The win marks her fourth win on bars this season. She also placed second on vault with a 9.850.
