► What's Happening - The Boise State track and field team will be hitting two meets this coming weekend, splitting up and spanning the western United States. One part of the Bronco squad will be heading south to the 32nd Sun Angel Track Classic in Tempe, Ariz., (April 8-9) while the other part of the team will head north to Spokane, Wash., for the WAR IV Northwest Scoring Clash (April 9).
SUN ANGEL CLASSIC
► Meet Specifics - The Sun Angel Classic will be held over two days with Friday's (April 8) events beginning at 1 p.m. (Mountain). Arizona State University plays host to the meet, held at Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe. The meet, which is a mixture of high school, collegiate and open events, will kick off the collegiate competitions with the men's and women's hammer throw on Friday at 1 p.m., followed by the women's pole vault at 5 p.m. and the men's pole vault at 7:30 p.m. The remainder of the collegiate events will be contested on Saturday (April 9), beginning as early as 10:00 a.m. (Mountain) with the discus. Saturday's collegiate running events begin at 1:30 p.m. with the 100-meter hurdles while the meet is slated to end around 10:05 p.m. with the men's 4x400-meter relay.

► The Competition - The Sun Angel Classic will host student-athletes from the following schools: Adams State, Air Force, Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, BYU, Central Arizona, Colorado State, DePaul, Eastern New Mexico, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Oklahoma, Pittsburg, Purdue, Rutgers, San Diego State, Syracuse, UC Riverside, UC San Diego and Virginia Tech.

► Ranked Broncos - Only five Broncos sit in the nation's top-100 rankings in their respective events this week. Eetu Viitala holds the team's highest ranking, sitting at No. 6 in the nation this week in the long jump. Rolando Trammel is the only multi-ranked athlete, sitting at No. 48 in the 400-meter hurdles and No. 57 in the 110-meter hurdles. Justin Malnes joins in the 110-meter hurdle rankings, sitting at No. 79, while Trevor Kraychir and Alex Nelson rank No. 33 and No. 63 in the hammer throw. Four of the five Broncos (excluding Viitala) are heading to the Sun Angel Classic.
WAR IV (Northwest Scoring Clash)
► Meet Specifics - The WAR IV Northwest Scoring Clash is a meet hosted by the Community Colleges of Spokane and will be held at Spokane Falls Community College on Saturday, April 9. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. (Mountain) with the men's hammer and women's discus, while track events will begins with two sections of the women's 5000-meters at 10:00 a.m. as well. The last scheduled event is slated for 6 p.m. (Mountain) with the men's 4x400-meter relay.

► The Competition & Meet Format - The WAR IV (Northwest Scoring Clash) is a four-state dual scoring meet. The meet includes teams from Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Montana and is formatted to score as a Washington vs. "The World" (Idaho, Oregon and Montana) dual score.
Washington schools include the Community College of Spokane, Central Washington, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Seattle Pacific, Seattle University, Washington State and Whitworth.
"The World" team includes Boise State, Eastern Oregon, Treasure Valley, Lewis-Clark State, Northwest Nazarene, Great Falls University and Montana.
Scoring will be done as a dual format, separated by gendering and will be scored as a 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 format for both individual and relay events.
