Hall Named Capital One Academic All-District

BOISE, Idaho - The individual academic accolades keep rolling in for former Boise State wrestler Adam Hall, who was named a Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team selection on Friday (May 20) for his success on and off the mat in 2010-11.

The Capital One Academic All-District teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, honor the top male and female student-athletes from eight geographic districts each year. From the eight districts, student-athletes are honored as first and second team selections in a University Division and College Division.

Hall, a Bonners Ferry, Idaho (Bonners Ferry HS) native, was one of 11 student-athletes named to the District-8 University Second-Team following an outstanding senior season wrestling for the Broncos. After maintaining a 3.50 grade point average during his five years at Boise State, Hall graduated this spring with a bachelor's degree in health science.

On the mat, Hall was successful in earning his second consecutive Pac-10 Conference Championship and NCAA All-American honors with a fifth-place finish at the national tournament. He finished 2010-11 with a 30-2 overall record pushing his career record to 122-18. His total wins rank second most in program history trailing only Tyler Sherfey (124-39).

This marks the fourth academic honor of the spring for Hall, who has been recognized by both the Pac-10 and the NCAA following his senior season. In March, Hall was named the Pac-10 Conference Wrestling Scholar Athlete of the Year. He was also selected as a Pac-10 All-Academic First Team honoree just weeks later. Hall's most recent academic award selection came on Monday (May 16) when he was named one of 29 recipients of the NCAA Men's Winter Postgraduate Scholarship.
