BOISE, Idaho-Boise State softball continues its fall schedule Wednesday at 3 p.m., when it welcomes Washington to Mountain Cove Softball Field. The Broncos won their first two games of the nonchampionship season Saturday, against College of Southern Idaho.
Boise State and Washington met last season at the Judi Garman Classic March 20, in Fullerton, Calif. The Broncos pushed the then-No. 4 Huskies to the very end, bringing the go-ahead run to the plate in the seventh, before falling 4-1.
Boise State enjoyed its most successful season in 2011, as the third-year program finished tied for second in the Western Athletic Conference and No. 79 in the RPI. It was a 93-spot leap from the previous season's final rankings.
Washington finished the 2011 season No. 12 in the RPI and advanced to the super regionals.
Boise State also hosts Northwest Nazarene Friday at 4 p.m., at Mountain Cove Softball Field. Admission to all fall games is free.
