Broncos and BYU Agree to 12-Year Football Series

                BOISE, Idaho - Boise State University and Brigham Young University have announced a 12-year football series which begins next September (2012) and ends in October of 2023. 

                The two schools originally signed a four-year agreement in January of 2008 with games at Bronco Stadium in 2012 and 2014, and games at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah in 2013 and 2015.

                This new agreement will be the same in regards to a home-and-home series which will alternate each year between Boise and Provo.

                "We are excited to extend our previous agreement to 12 years and be able to have a quality opponent like BYU play at Bronco Stadium," interim director of athletics Curt Apsey stated.  "It is a great regional matchup that provides fans from both schools the opportunity to attend the game."

                The first game is scheduled for Sept. 22, 2012 at Bronco Stadium, with the first game in Provo scheduled for Oct. 26, 2013. 

All games are on Saturday's with kickoff times to be announced at a later date.

                The schools will exchange guarantees of $225,000 each year.

                Boise State has played BYU twice before, recording back-to-back victories in 2003 and 2004.  The Broncos posted a 50-12 win at Provo in the first meeting before coming away with a one-point victory the following year, 28-27.
