Broncos 49th, Hume 25th in First Rankings of 2012

SKILLMAN, N.J.-Boise State men's tennis is ranked 49th in the first Campbell/ITA College Tennis Rankings of 2012. Damian Hume and James Meredith received national rankings individually.

Hume checks in at No. 25 on the heels of a successful fall season that included the Mountain Region singles title and a run to the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.

Meredith is ranked 31st, nationally. His fall season included two wins at the ITA All-American Championships.

Hume also tops the Mountain Region rankings in singles. Meredith is No. 3 in the regional rankings. The duo was tabbed the No. 7 doubles team in the Mountain Region.

Andrew Bettles, Garrett Patton and Scott Sears also received regional recognition. Bettles is No. 12 in the singles rankings and pairs with Sears for the No. 9 doubles squad. Patton, entering his freshman season, is ranked 14th, individually.

The Broncos open the spring season Jan. 22, against No. 62 Saint Mary's at 9 a.m. at the Boise Racquet and Swim Club.
