Broncos Complete Day One of Fall Classic


Day One Results

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State men’s tennis team competed the first day of the Boise State Fall Classic, Friday.

Nathan Sereke led the team with two wins in straight sets in the Orange Singles Flight. The junior from Stockholm, Sweden defeated Montana’s Mike Facey in the first round (6-1, 6-0) before taking down Gonzaga’s Oliver Jamin (7-6, 6-3). Sereke will meet Abid Akbar of Idaho in the quarterfinals, Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Scott Sears also competed in the Orange Singles Flight, defeating Joseph Cohen in the first round falling to Stefan Micov, 6-3, 6-4.

Freshman Brian Foley was victorious in his one match of the day in the Blue Singles Flight, dominating his Bronco debut against Nate Chart, 6-0, 6-0. The Henderson, Nev., product will be back in action against Filip Fitchtel, Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Sears and Foley teamed up for a doubles but lost their opening match, 8-2 to Vaughan/Branzburg.
