Broncos Lose Heartbreaker to Nevada

SAN DIEGO - The Boise State soccer team's season came to an end, Wednesday, after a 1-0 loss to Nevada in the opening round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament.

The Wolf Pack got its lone goal in the 85th minute when Daisha Jones Oglesby tore down the right side into the 18-yard box, stepped on the ball, and fired into the back of the net.

After a shaky start in which the ball was kept in Boise State's half, the Broncos found their stride and started to develop chances of their own.

Maddy McDevitt made one save in seven minutes before leaving the match with an injury sustained during a collision with a charging Nevada attacker. Megan Blanchard played the rest of the match in goal, making three saves.

Senior Lauren Hickok led the team with four shots including a dangerous header in the second half that forced the Nevada keeper to make a quick reaction save.

The Broncos end the season with a 9-9-2 record after finishing tied for second in the conference during the regular season.
