Millikan High School
Mackenzie McGill is currently a senior at Millikan High School. McGill pitched the Rams to an appearance in the 2012 CIF Southern Section Division 2 quarterfinals after finishing third in the Moore League standings.
Mackenzie will be a great complement to our pitching staff," said head coach Erin Thorpe. "We expect her to help our staff immediately and are also excited to see her develop once she gets here."
McGill was 8-3 in the circle as a junior at Millikan. She also lettered as a sophomore, helping head coach Donald Harper and the Rams to a second-place finish in their league and another trip to the quarterfinals of the section championship.
McGill plays travel ball for USA Athletics, advancing to ASA Nationals each of the past three summers. The team earned its highest finish in 2010 with a fifth-place showing. Boise State freshman Rose Saenz was a member of the same club in the summers.
"I chose Boise State because I saw an opportunity to contribute to the growth of an exciting college softball program," McGill said. "I love the Boise community and how it supports all Boise State Athletics. I also chose Boise State because it has strong academic areas that match my interests and it will help me pursue my career beyond softball."
