GOODYEAR, Ariz. –
Boise State senior men’s golfer Scott Spiewak posted his third-straight sub-par round at the Desert Shootout Friday, finishing the tournament tied for 12th place.
Spiewak, who led the tournament in par-four scoring at 6-under, was one of only five golfers in the 94-man field to shoot under-par in each of the tournament’s three rounds. He finished with a 54-hole total of 212 (71-70-71; -4) at the 7,015-yard Palm Valley Golf Course, just one stroke back of the top 10.
Fellow senior Taylor Porter posted a final-round 73 (+1), his only round over par at the event. He finished tied for 31st with a three-round total of 217 (+1), two strokes back of the top 25.
The Broncos finished the Desert Shootout in ninth place with a team total of 865, just one stroke over par.
Rounding out the scoring were junior Taeksoo Kim (218; +2), junior Clayton Kosanovich (223; +7) and redshirt sophomore Jordan Skyles (230; +14).
The Broncos will begin the Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore., Monday. --broncosports.com--
