Boise State Alum Alisha Young Joins Staff

Shawn Garus, Boise State Head Volleyball Coach, has added former Bronco star Alisha Young to his staff as the Video Coordinator/Director of Operations. Young will head up the video program for the Broncos, as well as assist with the day to day operations of the program, the teams' outreach/community service activities, clinics, tournaments and camps.

"Alisha is going to be a great addition to our staff, she has great energy for our sport," commented Garus. "She has great enthusiasm and wants to be involved in growing volleyball in the Boise area."

Young was a standout for the Broncos competing from 2007 through 2010. During her career she was a all-conference and academic all-conference honoree. The native of American Fork, Utah, finished her career ranked second in career points with 1,271.5 and ninth in kills with 1,055. Young's senior campaign (2010) was an outstanding year as she recorded several program top-10 performances for a season, including setting the school record for points in a season with 524.5. Her other top-10 marks were the second-best hitting percentage in program history at 33.9 percent, 10th-best year for blocks with 140 and fourth most kills with 414.

Following graduation in the summer of 2011, Young spent the fall 2011 semester as a volunteer assistant coach for the Boise State program. She graduated with a bachelors degree in Health Science. The former Alisha King is married to Tyler Young who just completed his senior year of basketball at the College of Idaho. The couple lives in Boise.
