FRESNO, Calif. –
Junior Taeksoo Kim led Boise State during the final round of the Fresno State Lexus Classic Wednesday, posting a 3-over-par 75 in windy conditions that prevented all but two golfers in the 100-player field from finishing par-or-better.
Kim finished the three-round tournament at 221 (+5), earning a share of 27th place. He was just one stroke back of the top 25.
Freshman Keawe Soares, playing in just his second-collegiate event, followed his career-low, second-round 69 (-3) with a final-round 79 (+7), finishing in a tie for 41st. He cared a 54-hole total of 224 (+8).
The Broncos finished in 14th as a team, carding a three-round total of 1,141 (+61). Teams played six golfers and counted five scores at the event, held at the par-72, 6,765-yard Fort Washington Country Club.
Rounding out the Bronco contingent were senior Scott Spiewak (228, +12), freshman Jon VanDyk (235, +19), senior Taylor Porter (235, +19) and junior Clayton Kosanovich (238, +22).
