PROVO, Utah –
Boise State junior Taeksoo Kim is one of only six golfers in the field under par following the first two rounds of the Cougar Classic, Friday.
Kim followed an even-par 72 in the opening round with a 2-under 70 at the par-72, 7,142-yard Riverside Country Club. He will enter Saturday’s final round in sixth place, three strokes back of the leader.
Senior Scott Spiewak is currently in 12th place following rounds of 72 (E) and 74 (+2). One of five golfers tied with two-round totals of 146 (+2), he will enter the final round one stroke back of the top 10.
The Broncos are in seventh place as a team, eight strokes ahead of Mountain West foe Wyoming. Boise State shot 296 (+8) in the first round and 295 (+7) in the second round, a total of 591 (+15).
Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were freshman Jon VanDyk, who posted a two-round total of 151 (+7); junior Clayton Kosanovich, who posted back-to-back rounds of 76 (+4) en route to an 8-over 152; and senior Taylor Porter, who carded a two-round total of 161 (+17).
Playing as an individual, Jordan Skyles posted a 36-hole total of 152 (+8).
