Petersen Ranked Among Nation's Elite Head Coaches

The Sporting News released its ranking of each of the 124 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches Thursday, and Boise State’s Chris Petersen checked in at No. 2.

The magazine pointed to Petersen’s staggering 73-6 overall record as head coach of the Broncos, a winning percentage of .924.

Petersen was preceded by only Alabama’s Nick Saban, and was joined in the top 10 by Urban Meyer (Ohio State), Les Miles (LSU), Bob Stoops (Oklahoma), Chip Kelly (Oregon), Gary Patterson (TCU), Steve Spurrier (South Carolina), Frank Beamer (Virginia Tech) and Mike Gundy (Oklahoma State).
