Broncos have 15 home games this year.
BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State University women's basketball team released its 2012-13 schedule Monday morning. The slate consists of 29 games with 13 nonconference and 16 Mountain West contests. Of the 29 games 15 will be at home in Taco Bell Arena.
Ten of the 29 games will be played against teams that advanced to postseason play last year. Five of those games come against two MW teams in defending champion San Diego State University and league newcomer Fresno State, as well as instate-rival Idaho State University. All three teams participated in last year's NCAA Tournament.
The other five teams who advanced to the 2012 Women's National Invitation Tournament include: Syracuse University, University of San Diego, University of South Dakota, University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), and MW member UNLV.
The nonconference home schedule includes: North Dakota State University (Nov. 13), Idaho State (Nov. 20), Eastern Washington University (Dec. 7), Carroll College (Dec. 9), University of Portland (Dec. 16), University of South Dakota (Dec. 22) and the College of Idaho (Jan. 2). In addition, there will be a home exhibition contest versus instate-school Lewis-Clark State College as part of a doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 2.
During the 2012 campaign the Broncos will hit the road for six nonconference games, two at neutral sites and four away contests on the opponents home court. The six-game slate has Boise State at Utah Valley (Nov. 9), at Weber State (Nov. 15), at San Francisco (Nov. 24), at Syracuse (Dec. 30), as well as playing in the Air Force Classic Nov. 30 through Dec. 1 where the Broncos will face San Diego and UMKC, respectively.
Boise State's second year of Mountain West play includes a larger 16-game conference schedule as Fresno State and the University of Nevada join the family. This year's MW membership features the U.S. Air Force Academy, Boise State, Colorado State University, Fresno State, Nevada, University of New Mexico, UNLV, University of Wyoming, and San Diego State.
The conference slate includes a round robin format with each team playing the other members home and away. The Broncos open the league season at home versus the Wyoming Cowgirls on Wednesday, Jan. 9. For the second time in two years Boise State will conclude the regular season on the road at San Diego State.
The Mountain West Championship Tournament will be held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nev., on the campus of UNLV March 12-16, 2013, with all nine teams advancing to the competition. 2012-13 Season Admission Prices
Admission prices to this year's games are $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for children (high school age or younger), $4.00 for senior citizens, while Boise State students are free with their student I.D. card. Doubleheaders with the men's team requires a men's ticket for admission. For those interested in Boise State's All Sports Pass which includes admission to all sports except football and men's basketball (or any basketball doubleheaders) the price remains the same at $50.00 per person. The sports pass is good for only Boise State events and does not include any conference or NCAA championship events.
