CORVALLIS, Ore. –
Boise State senior women’s golfer Hayley Young
finished tied for 25th at the season-opening Oregon State Invitational, Tuesday.
Young finished at 11-over-par (72-76-79) at the par-72, 6,141-yard Trysting Tree Golf Club. She now has 13-career top-25 finishes, which moves her into eighth place on Boise State’s all-time list.
Freshman Samantha Martin
and McKenzie Ford
finished just outside the top 25 in their collegiate debuts. Martin concluded the tournament in a tie for 32nd (76-75-78—229, +13), two strokes back; while Ford finished in a tie for 36th (77-75-78—230, +14), three strokes back.
The Broncos finished in ninth place with a team score of 917 (+53).
Washington won the event at 11-under (853), the only squad in the 16-team field under-par. The Huskies’ Charlotte Thomas took home medalist honors with a 5-under 211.
Senior Lori Harper
shot 77 (+5) during the final round, low score of the day for the Broncos. She finished with a 54-hole total of 233 (77-79-77, +17), and freshman Samantha Pless rounded out the Bronco contingent with a 235 (79-78-78, +19).
