BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's soccer head coach Jim Thomas announced, Wednesday, Jill Messersmith of Costa Mesa, Calif., signed a letter of intent to join the Broncos.

Messersmith is currently in her senior season at Newport Harbor High School under head coach Larry Draluck. She helped the Sailors to appearances in the CIF Division I playoffs as a sophomore and junior, being named All-Sunset League second team as a junior. She is also a member of the field hockey team, making first-team all-league last season.

“Jill is an incredibly technical player,” said Thomas. “She has the ability to play on both sides of the field because of her ability with both feet. She is an incredibly creative dribbler and has the ability to break down team on her own. She has the tactical sense to play four of the front six positions.”

Messersmith played club ball with SC Blues, a team that saw much success in 2012. The Blues were 2012 Surf Cup Champions, Region IV Champions, California State Cup Champions and the Players Showcase Champions.
