Trio Earns All-American Scholar Recognition

July 9, 2013

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Three members of the Boise State women's golf team were named All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, the organization announced recently.

Senior Lori Harper and freshmen McKenzie Ford and Sammie Pless each garnered the prestigious academic award, which requires a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50.

For Harper, the award is the fourth of her career.

Each of the three were also named 2012-13 Mountain West Scholar-Athletes in June, the second-straight such award for Harper.

Ford, Harper and Pless each competed in every one of the Broncos' nine tournaments this season. Harper recorded one top-10 finish and three top 25s, while Pless recorded five top-25 efforts and Ford registered a top 10 and two top 25s.

Ford and Pless were part of a trio of freshmen that finished the season ranked 20th-nationally in Golfstat's Freshman Class Impact Rankings.
