BOISE, Idaho - Maddy O'Donnell and Sierra Nobley combined for 33 kills to lead Boise State to a straight-set victory over Fresno State in a Mountain West Conference volleyball match at Bronco Gym Saturday afternoon. Boise State dominated the Bulldogs hitting a school record 60 percent against Fresno State as the Blue and Orange won 25-14, 25-14, 25-14 to improve to 12-8 overall and 5-3 in league.

"I thought our team effort was really good this afternoon, our serve and pass was great and it allowed us to get into a system and get a lot of hitters involved," said coach Shawn Garus. "Maddy (O'Donnell) is just so fast in the middle, she is such a tough match-up for other teams, she can hit all across the net and her arm swing is so fast. But I credit Sarah Baugh for getting her the ball in positions where she can be successful. Sierra (Nobley) was solid for us once again on the outside, not just hitting the ball but passing and blocking as well. It was an overall great team effort today."

Boise State was dominant throughout the match and trailed only once during the three sets, that was at 1-0 to open the match. The Broncos took control after that and never looked back. Boise State claimed the first three-set victory in the series since 2006, a series that has gone to five sets in 11 of the last 13 encounters until today.

Nobley led the team in kills with 19 as she hit a career-best 58.6 percent. The freshman added one assist, five digs and two blocks.

O'Donnell was near perfect in hitting, converting on 14 of her 18 attempts with no errors for a career-high 77.8 percent. She also tied for the team-high in blocks with four.

Kaitlyn Oliver added seven kills going 7-for-7 in attempts, along with three blocks. Sarah Baugh was solid at setter once again dishing out 39 assists with three kills, five digs and four blocks which tied for team high. Four Broncos tied for the lead in digs with five each: Baugh, Nobley, Maddi Osburn and Hannah Hubbard.

On the day Boise State hit an all-time-high 60 percent against Fresno State with 53 kills, 46 assists, one ace, 30 digs and nine blocks.

Fresno State hit 16 percent for 29 kills to go with 28 assists, three aces, 17 digs -- a season-low for a Bronco opponent -- and one block. Carly Scarbrough led the Bulldogs with seven kills, followed by Zana Bowens with six.

Boise State will be on the road next at Colorado State and Wyoming as the start the second half of league play.
