Nov. 20, 2014
BOISE, Idaho -
Boise State men's basketball will participate in the 2015 DIRECTV Wooden Legacy, ESPN Events announced Thursday. The tournament runs Nov. 26, 27 and 29, 2015.
The DIRECTV Wooden Legacy will be played in Orange County, Calif. The first two days will be held on the campus of Cal-State Fullerton and the final day of competition will be at Honda Center in Anaheim. Joining the Broncos in the field are Arizona, Boston College, Evansville, Michigan State, Providence, Santa Clara and UC Irvine.
The week consists of a 12-game, bracket-format tournament. Each team is guaranteed one game per day and the final two remaining undefeated teams will face off in a championship game.
Boise State will also play at Arizona next year in a non-bracketed game of the tournament. A day and time for the game will be announced at a later date.
The invitation comes on the heels of last year's appearance at the Diamond Head Classic. Boise State advanced to the championship game of the early-season tournament in Honolulu, which is also an ESPN Event. Prior to last season, the Broncos had not played in a major early-season tournament since the 2000 Pearl Harbor Classic.
Additional information, including travel packages, can be found on the DIRECTV Wooden Legacy website.
