  • Boise State (5-6, 0-1 MW) is home this weekend to host a trio of schools in Mountain West rival Utah State (7-4, 0-1 MW), UTEP (6-8) and Lewis-Clark State (2-7) at the Appleton (outdoor) Tennis Center on campus.
  • The Broncos open the action on Friday in its second conference match of the season when they host the USU Aggies at 2 p.m.
  • The weekend continues when Boise State takes on former Western Athletic Conference rival UTEP at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The match will be in between a doubleheader for the men's team which plays Idaho State at 10 a.m. and Virginia Tech at 5 p.m.
  • The weekend will conclude when the Broncos take on the Lewis-Clark State Warriors from Lewiston, Idaho, at 2 p.m. on Sunday.


  • Utah State: The Aggies come to town with the best record of the four teams at 7-4 overall, but they are 0-2 in league play. Their top singles players are McKenzie Davis who is 9-2 on court one in duals and 12-4 overall, while Nini Guensler is 8-1 at No. 2 singles and 10-1 on the year. The main doubles tandem is Davis and Kallie Sperry who are 6-4 in duals one court one and 12-6 overall. Guensler and Lexi Turley are the No. 2 team going 6-2 in duals and 7-2 overall.
  • UTEP: The Miners enter the weekend at 6-8 overall. The top singles players for UTEP are Rebeca Calvillo who is 8-5 on court one and 15-10 overall. Davina Meza plays on court two where she is 7-6 in duals and 15-11 overall. In doubles Calvillo and Meza are the No. 1 team going 8-3 in duals and 16-8 overall.
  • Lewis-Clark State: Traditionally the Warriors are one of the top NAIA programs in the country. They enter the weekend at 2-7 overall, however, they have played nearly an entire NCAA Division I schedule going 0-6 against teams in that division. No singles or doubles statistics were available at press time.

  • The Broncos debuted in the ITA national team rankings last week at No. 73. However, after remaining idle last week they slipped out of the rankings this week.


  • Singles: Sophomore Teal Vosburgh is ranked 15th in the ITA Mountain Region, while senior Sandy Vo is tied for 18th.
  • Doubles: The doubles team of seniors Sandy Vo and Morgan Basil entered the spring team season ranked tied for 10th.


  • The Record: The Broncos are coming into the week at 5-6 overall and 0-1 in MW play. Boise State snapped a five-match losing streak two weeks ago when they defeated Idaho State 6-1, the lat time out on March 2.
  • Ranked Opponents: Three of Boise State's five losses have come at the hands of ranked opponents in No. 55 Utah, No. 63 Santa Clara and No. 51 Washington State.
  • The Broncos at Home: Boise State is 3-4 at home this season indoors. The Broncos call both the Boas Indoor Tennis Center and the Appleton Outdoor Tennis Center home.
  • The Broncos on the Road: Boise State is now 2-2 on the road this year.
  • The Coach: Beck Roghaar is in his fourth season at Boise State where he is 4-4 in 2014 and 40-34 overall, his career mark is the same.

Boise State Singles:

  • Teal Vosburgh has recorded the top singles mark overall for Boise State playing primarily at No.2 singles during duals going 6-4 and 15-7 on the year.
  • Megan LaLone has been big for the Broncos playing at the No.6 position where she has gone 6-2 this spring in duals, the sophomore is 13-8 overall.
  • Anissa Bryant-Swift has also been solid this spring going 7-4 in singles playing on courts two (2-2), three (1-1) and four (4-1). The senior is 14-7 overall in singles.

Boise State Doubles:

  • Sandy Vo and Morgan Basil are 3-6 playing No. 1 during duals, 8-7 this year as a team. The senior duo is 44-22 all-time as a doubles team during their Boise State careers dating back to their sophomore season.
  • Megan LaLone and Teal Vosburgh are 2-3 playing on court two during duals and 2-1 on court three.
  • Anissa Bryant-Swift and Milena Toseva have seen the most time on court three where they are 4-1.
