BOISE, Idaho--Four Bronco divers competed at the Zone E Diving Championships, March 13-15 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Senior diver Ciera Cortney competed for her fourth-straight year at Zones. She finished 11th on three-meter springboard (587.00), which marked her highest score at the event. Cortney placed 10th in the one-meter finals (543.30). She tied her personal-best finish (10th) which she hit in 2012.
Junior Erin Kohlbeck and freshmen Karli Kriewall and Jordan Marthens competed at Zones for the first time in their Bronco careers. Kohlbeck placed 20th in the preliminary rounds of the one-meter (251.60) and three-meter (271.35). She placed 25th on the platform (202.65). Marthens and Kriewall placed 55th and 56th on one-meter, with scores of 192.75 and 189.95, respectively. On three-meter, Marthens placed 39th (238.20) and Kriewall placed 43rd (224.10). Kriewall placed 26th on platform (201.65) and Marthens placed 30th (185.25).
Though they recorded personal best scores, the divers failed to qualify for NCAA Championships.
On the swimming side, six Broncos will compete at the NCAA Championships, held March 20-22 at University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn., at the University of Minnesota.
