SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A pair of Boise State men's golf underclassmen posted sub-par rounds on the final day of the Sacramento State Invitational Tuesday, each earning a finish inside the top 25.
Sophomore Logan France and freshman David Elliott each fired a 1-under 71 in the final round, two of the 18 sub-par rounds at the 7,009-yard Valley Hi Country Club in round three of the 54-hole tournament.
France finished tied for ninth place, his second-straight top-10 finish and his third such finish of the season. Elliott finished tied for 20th, the best finish of his young career, and his first top-25 effort as a Bronco.
France posted rounds of 72-74-71, finishing with a three-round total of 217 (+1). Elliott finished at 222 (+6), following rounds of 78-73-71.
Junior Ty Travis finished tied for 31st with a three-round total of 224 (74-74-76, +8), two strokes back of the top 25. This week's tournament marked the first time this season that Travis finished outside of the top 25.
The Broncos finished in eighth place as a team, tallying a team score of 890 (297-297-296, +26).
Rounding out the scoring for Boise State were redshirt senior Jordan Skyles (73-76-78--227, +11) and redshirt junior Minwoo Park (85-79-78--242, +26).
Boise State returns to action March 24-25 at the Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore.
