July 10, 2014

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men's tennis players Aidan Reid, Toby Mitchell and Brian Foley were all recognized for academic excellence today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The three Broncos are among 13 Mountain West men's tennis players honored by the ITA this year.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).

The three individuals honored for Boise State as ITA Scholar-Athletes were senior Aidan Reid (3.955) who graduated this past May and is on his way to medical school. He was joined on the ITA team by sophomores Brian Foley (3.53) and Toby Mitchell (3.52).

Foley and Mitchell were also named to the Mountain West All-Academic Team this spring along with Andy Bettles, Garrett Patton and Thomas Tenreiro.

Earlier this week Reid, Foley and Mitchell were all named 2014 Mountain West Scholar-Athletes for maintaining GPA's above 3.5.
