Rodriguez Ortego Energizes Spain to Victory Over Czech Republic

UDINE, Italy - Boise State's Yaiza Rodriguez Ortego energized Spain in the second half of its 70-58 victory over the Czech Republic in the Group E opener Monday in the second round of the FIBA European Championship in Udine, Italy. The victory kept Spain undefeated in four contests heading into tomorrow's match-up with Russia.

On the FIBAEurope.com website Rodriguez Ortego was highlighted in the game recap under the "Game Hero" section with the following comment, "Yaiza Rodriguez won't grab any of the headlines but she provided her team with energy and efficiency when they really needed it. Spain spread the floor and shared the ball more effectively with her on the court and she covered every inch of the hardwood."

Rodriguez Ortego played a tournament-high 28 minutes versus the Czechs recording seven points, one rebound and three assists, she went a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.
