SALT LAKE CITY-
|Ute Field | Salt Lake City|
|Boise State Broncos||Utah Utes|
Boise State women's soccer suffered its first loss of the season Friday, falling 2-1 at Utah. The Utes took the lead in the 24th minute and did not look back, despite a late goal from Kelsy Nicassio.
Utah's first-half goal came on a through ball that was poked in. It is the first time Boise State has been scored on in the first half since Oct. 13, 2013. The Broncos went 10 matches without conceding a tally in the first 45 minutes.
The Utes added an insurance goal in the 75th minute. A shot to the right post found the back of the net for a decisive lead.
The second goal was the difference as Nicassio netted the first goal of her career in the 87th minute. The junior took a shot from deep and skipped it just over Utah's goalkeeper.
Bailey Anderson started at goalie for the Broncos and made a career-high five saves. Anderson kept Boise State in the match early, making three saves in the first nine minutes of action.
Boise State attempted just eight shots, but put five on frame as they kept the Ute defense on its heels.
The Broncos are now 2-1-1 against the Pac-12 under second-year head coach Jim Thomas. Boise State earned road wins against Washington and Arizona State last season.
Boise State continues it's road trip Sunday, with a 2 p.m. match at Utah Valley. Live video of the match will be streamed for free. Watch it HERE.
