BOISE, Idaho-The Boise State gymnastics team released its 2015 schedule Thursday. The schedule features four home meets against Southern Utah, Utah State, BYU and Alaska, as well as two away meets against 2014 conference champions.
Co-head coaches Tina Bird and Neil Resnick enter their eighth season at the helm of the Boise State gymnastics team. They most recently guided seniors Kelsey Morris and Ciera Perkins to compete individually at NCAA Nationals, where Perkins became the first Bronco gymnast in history to earn All-America honors on floor exercise.
The Broncos return four of their five All-MRGC gymnasts from last season, including Co-Freshman of the Year Diana Mejia and Gymnast of the Year Ciera Perkins.
The season commences Jan. 16 on the road against the 2014 Pac-12 Champion Utah Utes, where Boise State will compete in a quadrangular meet with Southern Utah and UC Davis.
Bronco fans will have their first chance to see the new-look Bronco Gymnastics on Jan. 23 against Southern Utah. The Jan. 23 home opener will mark the 15th edition of the Beauty and the Beast competition, as wrestling will host Arizona State simultaneously.
The blue and orange will head on the road again and compete against Utah State in Logan, Utah (Jan. 30), and then head to Provo, Utah a week later to take on BYU and Denver (Feb. 6/7).
The Broncos will continue on their third-straight road meet and travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to challenge SEC power and 2014 SEC Champion the Alabama Crimson Tide in Coleman Coliseum (Feb. 13).
Boise State will welcome Utah State for the second home meet of the season (Feb. 15). They will pack up and head to Columbus, Ohio for a meet against Ohio State (Feb. 20).
The Broncos will host BYU on Feb. 27, and then host Alaska a week later (March 6) for Senior Night.
Boise State will finish up the regular season on the road in Cedar City, Utah (March 13) to battle the Southern Utah Thunderbirds and Cal.
The Broncos' postseason begins with this year's Mountain Rim Gymnastics Championships (March 21) hosted by Denver. NCAA Regionals will be held April 4, and the 2015 NCAA Nationals will be held April 17-19 in Fort Worth, Texas.
