BOISE, Idaho â€" The next Bronco Luncheon is scheduled for this Monday, Oct. 5, and will feature Boise State head coaches Bryan Harsin (football), Jeremy Kipp (women's swimming and diving) and Jim Thomas (women's soccer) along with Executive Director of Athletics Curt Apsey. The Bronco Luncheon will begin at noon in the Jordan Ballroom at the Student Union Building.
The idea of community has boosted the luncheon series with the goal of giving Bronco fans an exciting Monday kickoff to their week. In addition to the special guests Monday's luncheon will also feature Bronco student-athletes, the Spirit Squad and giveaways.
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. with the program set to begin at noon. Individual luncheon tickets can be purchased for $15 each and are available through BroncoAthleticAssociation.com or by calling 208-426-4737. Walk-up guests are also welcome.
The luncheons are open to the public and complimentary parking will be available for attendees in the
Lincoln Garage across the street from the Student Union Building. Guests can park in any available spot in the garage. Visit a pay kiosk, enter in space number, click "Purchase" and then select "Bronco Luncheon." Kiosks are located on each floor of the garage and guests will receive a receipt after following step-by-step instructions on the screen.
Harsin has guided Boise State football to a 15-3 mark, a Mountain West championship and VIZIO Fiesta Bowl title in his season-plus as the Broncos' head coach. The long-time Bronco assistant (2001-10) and alumnus currently has Boise State owning a 3-1 record in 2015 as the Broncos begin the Mountain West portion of their schedule at Albertsons Stadium this Saturday night at 8:15 p.m. against Hawai'i. Kipp was named the second head coach in Boise State swimming and diving history on Aug. 25. He spent the past eight seasons as an assistant coach at USC, and prior to that spent eight years on the staff at UC Santa Barbara.
Thomas is currently in his third season as head coach of the Bronco women's soccer program. Over his time at Boise Thomas owns a record of 25-21-9 and his student-athletes have earned six All-MW athletic and 15 all-academic honors. In his first season at the Bronco helm (2013), Thomas guided the Broncos to 13 wins and an appearance in the championship match of the Mountain West Tournament.
Apsey returned to Boise State in August after nine months as Athletics Director at Carroll College in Helena, Mont. Prior to leaving for Carroll, Apsey spent 16 years (1998-2014) in the Boise State athletic administration, most notably serving as interim athletic director from Sept. 2011 to January 2012.
The remaining three Bronco Luncheons are scheduled to take place Oct. 19, Nov. 2 and Nov. 30.
