SAN JOSE, Calif. â€" Competing as an individual, Boise State junior women's golfer Jamie Donizio shot the lowest single-round score since her freshman year, at the SCU Colby Invitational, Oct. 19-20.
Donizio concluded the tournament with a third round score of 76, her lowest since she shot a 72 in the third round of the 2013 Bronco Fall Invitational, Sept. 16-17.
Donzio scored a 236 (78-82-76, +20) on the par-72, 6,146-yard Silver Creek Country Club to finish eighth.
Junior Oceane Pelloille (82-74-81-2374, +21), redshirt sophomore Haliee Pieper (79-80-83-242, +26) and freshmen Kinsley Bonfilio (89-80-78-247, +31) and Adara Pauluhn (79-90-89-258, +42) rounded out the scoring for the Broncos.
Boise State competed as individuals, and was not scored as a team.
"Sometimes when we play the same courses each week at home and we see improvement, it's hard to tell if it's the players getting used to the course, or if their games are truly getting better," head coach Nicole Bird said. "It was great to see that the scores they shot at the tournament this week were the same as what they shoot at home a lot of the time, so we can accurately predict who should be in our lineup. It was good to see everyone in a tournament setting so we can see what is good and what needs work. We have several players who are really, really close. We can work on those things during off season and get ready for spring. Overall this was a great experience!"
The Broncos will close out their fall season at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, Oct. 25-27.
