Women's Golf Team Third Following Two Rounds in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Led by Sammie Pless' two-round score of 151 (+7), the Boise State women's golf team is in third place at the Juli Inkster Spartan Invite.

Playing at the Almaden Golf and Country Club (par-72, 6,143-yards), Boise State posted a 36-hole score of 616 (+40) and is 19 strokes behind team leader Fresno State. The Bulldogs posted a 36-hole score of 597 (+21). Host San Jose State is second at 609 (+33).

Pless, a junior from Seattle, opened the tournament with a five-over par 77 on Monday (Feb. 23) morning, before firing a two-over par 74 in the afternoon to put her into a tie for eighth with three other golfers.

Fresno State's Hannah Sodersten and Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir share the 36-hole lead with a four-over par score of 148.

The Broncos have two other players in the top 20 with Genevieve Ling and Samantha Martin tied for 17th with 10-over par scores of 154. McKenzie Ford is tied for 30th at 159 (+15), and Dana Clary is tied for 32nd with a 160 score (+16).

The final 18-holes will be played on Tuesday (Feb. 24).
