LOGAN, Utah--The Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference announced Bronco senior Kelsey Morris as its co-Gymnast of the Week. Morris shared the all-around title with BYU's Jill Van Mierlo in the tri-meet in Provo, with a score of 39.325. Morris also took home a share of the vault title with a 9.925 for her career-best in the event. The senior posted a 9.875 on bars, a 9.675 on beam and a 9.850 on floor exercise, helping the Broncos to a first-place team finish with a 196.625, ahead of Denver (196.150) and BYU (196.450).
Morris shares the weekly honor with Van Mierlo, while Specialist of the Week accolades went to Denver's Leah Lemonte. After Morris' share of vault and all-around titles, the Snohomish, Wash., native has 30 career event wins through her four years at Boise State. This is Morris' fourth weekly MRGC honor and first of the season.
The 12th-ranked Broncos will travel to No. 6 Alabama and compete against the Crimson Tide on Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. (MT). The Broncos will have a quick turnaround and host conference opponent Utah State at home on Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. in Taco Bell Arena.
