Boise State volleyball will close its spring practice season by hosting its annual spring tournament this Saturday. The Broncos will host and all Idaho field in Bronco Gym as they welcome Idaho State, College of Idaho, College of Southern Idaho and Northwest Nazarene to town for the round robin event.
"I like hosting this tournament in the spring because it gives us a chance to see how much we have improved and allows the fans a chance to see the team again," said coach Shawn Garus. "It is always fun to get the teams from Idaho together to compete in this event. It also allows us to play against someone other than ourselves, giving us a chance to practice the skills we have worked on this winter and spring as we get ready for next fall. It is also a good way to end the indoor practice period as we transition the team into the sand season next week."
The Broncos will host the tournament all day on Saturday in Bronco Gym with matches running every hour starting at 9 a.m. through the final session at 2 p.m., with a lunch break at noon. There will be two contests going simultaneously with each match being limited to two sets that go to 25 points. With the format of two matches playing at a time in the lower level of the gym, seating will be limited to the upper deck on the west side.
Admission is free for fans to come out and watch an exciting day of collegiate volleyball featuring the best from the Gem State. Parking will be available free of charge in the west stadium parking lot between Albertsons Stadium and Bronco Gym.
