BOISE, Idaho -- Brittany Aoyama and Sam Wicks were named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team Wednesday, heading up a list of 14 Boise State swimmers and divers who were recognized by the association.
The 14 honored student-athletes was the most of any Mountain West school.
Boise State was also among the top schools in terms of cumulative team grade-point average, boasting a figure of 3.49, tenth-best among schools that sent at least one swimmer to the NCAA Championships.
Aoyama and Wicks each competed in three events at the NCAA Championships in addition to picking up Mountain West titles at the conference meet in February. Aoyama claimed two gold medals, one in the 100 fly and the other, along with Wicks, in the 400 free relay. Both swimmers also earned seven All-Mountain West honors at the meet.
Wicks was previously named to the Capital One Academic At-Large Women's All-District 7 Team in April.
Twelve more Boise State swimmers and divers earned honorable mention from the CSCAA. Swimmers Blake Balogh, Jessica Bottelberghe, Emma Chard, Heather Harper, Katelyn Martin, Morgan McClure, Nikki Cannon and Sydney Johansen, along with divers Erin Kohlbeck, Karli Kriewall, Jordan Marthens and Kacee Olson were all recognized.
