BOISE, Idaho - Boise State swimmers Brittany Aoyama and Emma Chard competed in the 200-meter freestyle Tuesday at the U.S. Olympic Team Swimming Trials in Omaha.
Neither swimmer qualified for the evening semifinals. Chard was the top finisher of the pair, taking 50th with a time of 2:02.33 while Aoyama was 80th in a time of 2:03.97. Chard's time was 2.33 seconds behind the final semifinal qualifying spot.
The event wraps up competition at the meet for Chard, while Aoyama will swim the 100-meter freestyle Thursday and the 50 free Saturday. Aoyama competed in the 100 fly Sunday while graduated senior Sam Wicks competed in the 100 back Monday.
