BOISE, Idaho - Boise State men's golf returns to the state of Colorado this Monday-Tuesday for its second competition of the fall, teeing off at the Mark Simpson Invitational in Erie. The tournament, hosted by Colorado, will be played at the Buffs' home course, Colorado National Golf Club, a Par-72, 7,676-yard layout.
Joining the Broncos in the 20-team field are host Colorado, which enters two teams ("A" and "B"), Air Force, Campbell, Colorado State, Gonzaga, Houston Baptist, Northern Colorado, Santa Clara, Seattle University, Southern Utah, UT-Arlington, Utah, Utah Valley, Utah State, Washington State, Weber State, Wichita State and Wyoming.
The teams will tee off in a shotgun start Monday at 8:15 a.m. MT. Tuesday, the top four teams will tee off in five tee times at No. 1, with the rest of the field starting in a staggered shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. MT.
Representing the Broncos at this tournament will be the quintet of David Elliott, Alex Francois, Brian Humphreys, Kyle Mitsunaga and Tristan Rohrbaugh.
Boise State opened the 2016-17 season with an eighth-place finish at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational from Sept. 10-11, carding a three-round team score of 900 (+36). Elliott paced the Broncos with a three-round score of 72-75-76 (223, +7) to finish tied for 26th on the individual leaderboard, with Rohrbaugh carding a 78-74-72 (224, +8) to finish tied for 28th.
