Broncos In The NFL: Week 7

Oct. 25, 2017

BOISE, Idaho - ESPN NBA analyst Mark Jackson's catchphrase, "Mama, there goes that man!" can certainly be applied to former Boise State standout and current Dallas Cowboy defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, who upped his season sack total to 9.5 and forced yet another fumble in the Cowboys' 40-10 win at San Francisco in Week 7.

Lawrence, whose sack total is second in the league, teamed up with another former Bronco, defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford, to sack 49er quarterback C.J. Beathard twice.

Meanwhile, in New York, three Broncos were on the same field as former Boise State defensive backs Darian Thompson and Donte Deayon, playing for the Giants, hosted Seattle and former Bronco offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo.

Entering Week 7 there were 21 former Broncos under contract with NFL clubs, with 15 on active 53-man rosters. Linebacker Shea McClellin (New England Patriots), safeties Chanceller James (San Francisco 49ers) and Jeron Johnson (Jacksonville Jaguars), and defensive tackle Billy Winn (Denver Broncos) will spend the season on injured reserve after suffering season-ending injuries during the preseason. Two more Broncos, offensive lineman Travis Averill (Cleveland Browns) and running back Jeremy McNichols (San Francisco 49ers), are currently on the practice squads of their respective teams.
