STOCKTON, Calif. -
Donny Hopoi leads the Boise State men's golf team in a tie for 17th after one round of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, Thursday.

Hopoi fired 2-under 70 in the first round with six birdies.

The Broncos shot a combined 295 (+7) and are in a tie for 16th.

Freshman Skyler Eubank shot 2-over 74 and is currently in a tie for 62nd. Jacob Byers (75, +3) and Brian Humphreys (76, +4) round out the scoring for Boise State.

Mason Schulze was forced to withdraw from the first round due to injury. The sophomore is still eligible to return to completion tomorrow.

"Today was pretty unusual with our guys knowing we were a man down from the start," head coach Dan Potter said. "However, we just didn't play well. It happens. Luckily we have two more days to regroup. These guys are tough and I know they'll bounce back tomorrow whether Mason is able to play or not."

The second round will begin Friday, with the first Bronco teeing off at 10:20 a.m. (MT).
