WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS WEEK
Boise State (13-11, 6-6 MW) is on the road for two big contests at second-place Wyoming (13-11, 8-4 MW) Thursday night, followed by a trip to 20th-ranked and league-leading Colorado State (22-2, 12-0 MW) Saturday afternoon.
The Broncos open up the trip versus Wyoming at 6:30 p.m. (Mountain) on Thursday in UniWyo Sports Complex.
The weekend wraps up at Colorado State's Moby Arena at 1 p.m. (Mountain) Saturday.
LAST WEEK FOR THE BRONCOS
Boise State split a pair of home Mountain West contests this past week blowing past UNLV Thursday night in three sets, 25-20, 25-17, 25-14, then fell to New Mexico Saturday in four, 25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22.
Sierra Nobley led the Broncos in both matches, recording 14 kills while hitting 37.9 percent against UNLV, followed by 18 kills and 27.9 percent hitting versus New Mexico.
Nobley had a team-high 32 kills, two service aces, two block solos and three block assists for 37.5 points on the week.
Nobley is now 18 points short of tying the Mountain West record for career points.
Sabryn Roberts followed with 15 kills during the two contests, while Laney Hayes and Janell Walley each had 14.
The Cowgirls enter the week at 13-11 overall and have a 8-4 league mark good for second place.
Wyoming is coming off a split last week falling at Colorado State (3-1) before regrouping to defeat Air Force (3-1) in Laramie.
Wyoming is averaging 12.7 kills per set (5th MW) while hitting 23 percent (2nd MW) on the year ... defensively the Cowgirls are holding opponents to 18.1 percent hitting (2nd MW).
The Cowgirls were picked to place fourth in the 2017 MW race after returning three starters, the libero and 10 letterwinners from last year's squad.
This is the 24th meeting in the series which UW leads 12-11 ... the Cowgirls edged the Broncos in five sets earlier this year at Boise.
ABOUT COLORADO STATE
The Rams enter the week ranked 20th nationally at 22-2 overall and 12-0 in league play.
Colorado State is coming off of a pair of home victories against Wyoming (3-1) and Air Force (3-0).
CSU is averaging 13.9 kills per set (2nd MW / 34th NCAA) while hitting 31.1 percent (1st MW / 6th NCAA) as a team ... meanwhile, the Rams hold opponents to 17 percent hitting (1st MW / 44th NCAA).
CSU was picked to win the league race in the MW preseason poll after returning five starters, the libero and 11 letterwinners from last year's team.
This will be the 15th meeting in the all-time series which is led by Colorado State 13-1 ... the Rams rallied to beat the Broncos in five earlier this season at Boise.

HEAD COACH Shawn Garus
Coach Garus is the reigning two-time MW Coach of the Year (2015 and 2016), as well as the 2016 AVCA Region Coach of the Year.
Garus is 264-237 overall in his 17-year career as a collegiate head coach, 2017 marks his 17th season.
Garus is currently 156-118 at Boise State in his ninth season.
Garus ranks second in total wins in program history, out of 10 coaches all-time.
Garus has recorded six winning seasons, three (2010, 2015-16) with 20-plus wins, in the first eight seasons at Boise State.
NOBLEY LEADS MW IN FOUR CATEGORIES
Sierra Nobley leads the MW in total kills at 360, kills per set at 4.8, total points 405.5 and points per set at 5.4.
Nobley has led the conference in kills and points per set for the last three years.
NOBLEY AMONG NCAA CAREER LEADERS
Sierra Nobley is currently ranked among the NCAA's top-seven for 2017's active players in four categories: third for career kills (1,827), third for kills per set (4.53), fourth for total attacks (4,686) and seventh for attacks per set (11.63).
OSBURN IN NCAA TOP-25 CAREER DIGS
AVCA RANKED OPPONENTS
Boise State will face three teams currently ranked in the AVCA Poll: No. 5 Minnesota (Sept. 15) and No. 10 BYU (Aug. 31) and No. 20 Colorado State (Oct. 5) all at Bronco Gym in Boise, will play at CSU Nov. 4.
Missouri entered the year at No. 19 and was in those receiving votes (2nd) when the Broncos defeated the Tigers (Sept. 2) in Bronco Gym.
BYU was ranked No. 10 when the Broncos played them, while Minnesota was No. 1.
Oregon State is currently receiving votes for the top-25.
