Day One Results
MAUI - Brian Humphreys fired off a sizzling round of 7-under 64 to vault into a tie for second in the first round of the Ka'Anapali Classic Collegiate, Friday. Humphreys round ranks tied for the fourth-lowest round score in program history.
The sophomore ranks in the top five of the field in par-4 and par-5 scoring, while his eight birdies on the day are good for tied for third.
Boise State concluded day one in good position, currently standing in tied for sixth of the 20-team field. The Broncos shot a combined 275 (-9) - tied for fifth for team low-round in the school record book.
"Brian played great," head coach Dan Potter said. "Donny gutted out a poor ball striking day and found a way to shoot under par, which is huge. We need to get better from top to bottom the next two rounds to get in the mix, but Brian kept us in there today. I think we can play this course well."
Donny Hopoi made three birdies over his final five holes to end the day on a high note. The senior finished the day at 2-under (69), and is a stroke back of the top 20.
Skyler Eubank (70, -1), Mason Schulze (72, +1) and Jun Ho Won (79, +8) round out the scoring for Boise State.
