BOISE, Idaho - Boise State senior Sierra Nobley has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Pacific North Region Team as announced by the organization this morning. The marks the third straight year that Nobley has been named to the all-region team.
Nobley was one of two student-athletes from the Mountain West to make an all-region team along with Colorado State's Katie Oleksak, CSU's Jasmine Hanna received honorable mention recognition.
This is the fifth time in the last six years that Boise State has had at least one person named to the AVCA All-Pacific North Team and it is the 12th all-region honor in program history.
Nobley is the first Bronco in history to be a three-time AVCA All-Region honoree. However, this is the fourth consecutive year that the senior from Scottsdale, Ariz., has been recognized in the region after receiving honorable mention accolades as a freshman in 2014.
Nobley is now eligible for AVCA All-America honors, if successful she would be the first All-American in program history. Nobley has received AVCA Honorable Mention All-American recognition the previous two years (2015, 2016).
The senior outside hitter is the most decorated volleyball player in program history. She is the school's first-ever four-time all-conference honoree, in addition to being named the 2016 MW Player of the Year and 2014 MW Freshman of the Year.
The senior from Scottsdale, Ariz., is the Boise State and conference career record holder for kills (1,925), kills per set (4.53), attack attempts (4,953), points (2,157.0) and points per set (5.08). Nobley is also the fourth Bronco in history to record 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs (1,005).
For the last three years Nobley has led the MW and ranked in the top-15 nationally for kills and points per set. As a senior she led the MW in kills (4.72) and points (5.31) per set and is currently ranked seventh nationally in both categories.
The AVCA will announce the 2017 All-America Team on Dec. 13.
