The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Division I Women's All-Academic Team on Thursday, and sophomore Brenna Peloquin was named to the team for the second-straight year. The four-time All-America honoree has maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA over the course of her first year and a half as a Bronco.

In order to qualify for the honor, athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American at the national meet. The Gig Harbor, Wash., exceeded those qualifications with her perfect GPA and a sixth-place finish at the 2016 NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championships.

The health science studies major has accumulated two career All-America honors in cross country (2015 and 2016) and two more at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 5,000m and 10,000m races.

In addition to Peloquin's individual achievement, both the men's and women's teams were recognized as USTFCCCA Division I All-Academic Teams. In order to qualify for the distinction, teams needed a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

The women's team posted a 3.53 cumulative GPA and the men ended up with a 3.12. This is the third-consecutive year that both teams earned the USTFCCCA team honor.
