Broncos Set to Host Border Clash

The Boise State track and field team will host its lone home outdoor meet of the season this weekend with the Border Clash set to take place on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29 at Dona Larsen Park on the Ed Jacoby Outdoor Track. Friday's action will be comprised field events while Saturday will include a busy combination of both track and field events.

TICKETS: Adult tickets are $6, while junior (2-18) and senior (62+) tickets are $4. Students are free with a valid Boise State student I.D. card.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS: Boise State, College of Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Lewis and Clark State, Northwest Nazarene and Treasure Valley Community College.

SCHEDULE: The meet will begin on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. with the men's discus, women's hammer throw and women's long jump, and then end later that evening with the women's discus, men's hammer throw and men's long jump. Several field events (men's high jump, women's javelin, women's shot put and men's pole vault) and the women's 5,000m will start at 10 a.m. to kick off the action on Saturday, and the meet will conclude with the men's 4x400m relay at 2:30 p.m.

PARKING: Parking on Friday will be available on the east side of Albertsons Stadium with a shuttle transporting fans to and from Dona Larsen Park starting at 1 p.m. and going all the way until the end of the event that day. Saturday parking can be found at the Washington Group Plaza building on 720 Park Boulevard. Fans can drop off and pick up at the Dona Larsen Park parking lot, but no parking will be allotted for track meet attendees.

WEST REGION QUALIFYING TIMES/MARKS: Athletes with times and marks ranked in the top 48 of the West Region will compete in the 2017 NCAA West Regionals in Austin, Texas on May 25-27. The following Broncos who currently have the necessary qualifying times and marks are;

AIMING FOR MORE QUALIFIERS: With many Broncos still looking for regional qualifying times, several of the races on Saturday will feature a rabbit to ensure fast paces. Be on the lookout for several athletes to run times fast enough to break into the top 48 of the NCAA West Region rankings.
