COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State's Kyle Butters and Jack Heslin have been named to the Mountain West All-Conference Team as announced by the league office Thursday night. Butters received all-conference recognition for both singles and doubles play, while Heslin earned All-MW honors in doubles with Butters.
This is the second year that Butters has received postseason accolades from the MW after being named the freshman of the year in 2016, in addition to being named all-league in doubles.
This year Butters posted a 13-15 singles mark and a 7-11 record at No. 1 singles this spring which included going 2-2 in MW play. The sophomore from Wanganui, New Zealand, went 20-15 in doubles this season including a 13-10 mark with Heslin.
Butters and Heslin, the Kiwi Konnection, went 6-7 during spring duals while playing on court one.
Heslin went a team-best 19-13 on the year in singles and 12-10 during spring duals splitting time between the No. 2 and 3 positions. In doubles the sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, went 15-18 on the year and 13-10 when playing with Butters.
In six years of membership in the Mountain West Conference the Broncos have been represented with at least one singles honoree and one doubles pair on the all-conference team.
Boise State opens Mountain West Championship play Friday night against Utah State in the final quarterfinal match of the day at the Appleton Tennis Center in Boise.
